A traveling gypsy, Matthew Cleland makes his beautiful Score+Solder Terrariums by hand on Pender Island off the West Coast of British Columbia. With a flask in one and a soldering iron in the other, Matthew magically creates one of a kind pieces of art with skills past down through ten generations at his home on Pender. We had the pleasant opportunity to meet with Matt and his partner Julia to discuss the placement of Score+Solder Terrariums at Still Life when they visited Victoria in October; it became a chance meeting where we found something truly special and unique that we hadn’t realized we were looking for until we saw it walked in the door and landed in our hands.
